Led Zeppelin’s New Singer? Creed Reunion Tour?

Just two days ago we posted about the possibility of Led Zeppelin doing a reunion tour without Robert Plant. While that looks pretty sucky, it gets even suckier. Robert Plant’s replacement is none other than Myles Kennedy lead singer of Alter Bridge. You know, the somewhat-Christian hard rock band loved by people in Louisiana.

In our previous post on this subject I explained why this sucks pretty hard. But wait, there’s more suckage ahead! When a lot of sucky things happen there is runoff suckage that allows even more suckier things to happen! As a result of Myles Kennedy’s involvement in the Led Zep reunion tour, Creed may get back together!

Alter Bridge was formed after the remaining members of Creed fired singer Scott Stapp and decided to get a new singer and a new name. A Creed reunion may very well be a possibility. Courtesy of Billboard.com ”sources indicate there would be big bucks in a Creed reunion tour and that the band may indeed rise again.”

Who are you people? Why are you willing to pay money to see Creed live? These questions, we may never know the answers to…

Led Zeppelin Reunion Tour Without Robert Plant?

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

OK, so we here at SuckPolice pride ourselves on finding things that completely suck and bringing them to your attention. Why? Because these things are just not right, which brings me to today’s topic; Led Zeppelin’s seemingly impending reunion tour.

With a title that seems like Led Zeppelin won’t be smoking weed on their upcoming reunion tour, (”Led Zeppelin To Tour, Record Without Plant?“)…Billboard.com is reporting that the “non-singing” members of Led Zeppelin will not be waiting around for vocalist Robert Plant to sign off on a reunion tour and/or album. In an interview with BBC Radio, bassist John Paul Jones said that he, Jimmy Page and drummer Jason Bonham are “trying out a couple of singers.”

“We want to do it”. “It’s sounding great and we want to get on and get out there.” He continued ”it’s got to be right. There’s no point in just finding another Robert. You could get that out of a tribute band, but we don’t want to be our own tribute band.”

The main question on my mind…Is this really necessary? Led Zeppelin showed class when they broke up the band in 1980 after the death of original drummer John Bonham, whose powerhouse beats helped make the group a success. However, they then tarnished their reputation 5 years later when they played Live Aid with a drunken Robert Plant and Phil Collins on drums (complete with 80’s hair & spandex pants). I don’t really need to say that much, just check out the footage.

Led Zeppelin with Jason Bonham on drums, received great reviews for their O2 Arena Benefit concert in London last year, but that concert included Robert Plant. As if everything I mentioned wasn’t bad enough, it has even been rumored that Robert Plant’s replacement for this upcoming reunion tour could be Myles Kennedy, vocalist for Alter Bridge. In case you don’t remember (which I’m sure you don’t), Alter Bridge was a band formed from the ashes of Christian rock-pearl jam-wanna-be’s Creed.

I like Led Zeppelin myself, but I really feel for you hardcore fans. It hurts to see a band that is so legendary, so revered, destroy the great reputation they built for themselves. It really sucks.

Also, does anyone know why Jimmy Page looks Asian now?
